Camp Hill, PA (July 31,2020)- On July 30th, Mountz Jewelers was selected as the winner of the inaugural Diamonds Do Good Jewelry Awards, during a Virtual Global Gathering. Diamonds Do Good is a global non-profit that supports and empowers people in the natural diamond industry. The award celebrates charitable jewelers who make a positive impact in the world and their community. Mountz won the award for their “Inspire 40” campaign last fall.
Throughout their 40 years of fine jewelry and 5-star service, the Mountz name has been synonymous with community. So, when it came time to celebrate the company's 40th anniversary, it seemed obvious that central Pennsylvania should be at the center of the festivities. That is how co-owners Ron Leitzel and Tonia Leitzel Ulsh first came up with “Inspire 40.”
Through “Inspire 40,” Mountz brought attention to 40 people in the community who continually inspire others through dedication, care, and perseverance. Each individual was presented with a special gift from the Mountz Family as a sign of gratitude. “We are proud to be part of a thriving community where finding forty inspiring people was not difficult,” says Tonia Ulsh. “Giving back to those who have supported Mountz Jewelers over the past four decades is an important part of the culture we’ve built.”
Even after all 40 individuals had been recognized, the buzz never faded away. When DDG came across the work Mountz was doing, they were amazed by the jeweler’s dedication and the incredible stories coming out of central PA. When asked about their reaction to receiving the award, Ron Leitzel responded, “Inspired! We greatly appreciate the recognition,” he continued, “We hope that through this recognition, other businesses will be inspired to give back to their communities and recognize the people that are doing so much good for this world.”
As their community faces new challenges with COVID-19, Mountz has pledged to continue supporting those who strive to help others. Currently, they have three stores open in Carlisle, Camp Hill, and Colonial Park/Harrisburg, operating under strict safety regulations.
