At a chamber mixer hosted at Mountz Jewelers’ Carlisle location, the Greater Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce members donated 230 cans of food and $73 for Project SHARE, an organization based in Carlisle that provides Thanksgiving food to 1500 nearby families in Central Pennsylvania. As Mountz Jewelers did last year, they will match the donations by providing 50 turkeys to Project SHARE. “Due to our very successful chamber mixers the last few years, we decided to once again focus on a bountiful harvest theme. We invited our chamber mixer attendees to bring canned goods and donations and give back to those less fortunate in our communities,” said Tonia Ulsh, Chief Operations Officer and co-owner of Mountz Jewelers. “We were once again overwhelmed by the generosity of the attendees and our own employees! By coming together in celebration of the Thanksgiving season, we are thrilled to be presenting Project SHARE with the cans collected. In addition, Mountz Jewelers is again proud to donate 50 turkeys to Project SHARE.”
“This mixer has become a much anticipated Holiday tradition. We are thrilled with the response of our generous community,” said Elaine Livas, Founder and Executive Director of Project SHARE. “Who would expect to find 50 turkeys at a jewelry store? The people at Mountz Jewelers’ really understand what Project SHARE is up against in trying to care for so many needy families. We are really pleased to be partners with this compassionate and capable business.”
Tonia Ulsh and Ron Leitzel, owners of Mountz Jewelers will present the food and donations collected by the chamber members to Project SHARE at the Mountz Jewelers Carlisle location (1160 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle) on Monday, November 2 at 9:30 a.m.
