Mountz Jewelers 35 Year Anniversary Scavenger Hunt Ends With $640 Donation To United Way

Mountz Jewelers, Central Pennsylvania’s expert jewelers and source for GIA certified loose diamonds, engagement rings and fine jewelry, celebrated their 35 year anniversary with a scavenger hunt from September 29 to October 10, 2014 ending the contest with a $640 donation to the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County.

Mountz Jewelers gave away 35 jewelry prizes to the residents of Central PA. The “Celebrating 35 Years with 35 Gifts” contest took place over a two week period starting Monday, September 29. Mountz Jewelers hid 35 gifts valued from $35 to $100 in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties and offered hints as to the location of the prizes on their Facebook page (facebook.com/mountzjewelerspage). It was a finders-keepers contest, and the winners all kept their gifts, no strings attached. The 35 prizes ranged from Alex and Ani bangles to PANDORA bracelets, Honora pearls, gemstone earrings and gift cards valued from $35 to $100.

For each person who found a gift and tagged Mountz Jewelers on Facebook or Instagram, Mountz Jewelers pledged to make a $20 donation to the United Way. At the completion of the contest, all 35 gifts were found and a total of 32 Mountz fans posted their prizes to Mountz Jewelers’ social media channels totaling a $640 donation to the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County.

"We had a lot of fun celebrating our 35th anniversary with our scavenger hunt,” said Tonia Ulsh, Chief Operating Officer of Mountz Jewelers. "Seeing our community’s excitement and enthusiasm for finding our hidden treasures was truly a gift to us. We are thrilled to be presenting the United Way with a $640 check as a thank you to all our friends who posted their pictures to our Facebook and Instagram pages.”

The United Way provides financial support to 40 local programs that address the community’s most pressing needs in the critical areas of: Education, Income, Health and Safety Net. In addition to providing grants to 27 partner agencies, the United Way actively promotes the benefits of early learning through Success by 6, an early childhood initiative aimed at preparing children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
