Jewelry Appraisals

Jewelry is valuable. It may carry an emotional tie, story or a memory of a special time in your life. But along with the sentimental value, your treasured pieces also hold monetary value. That’s why we highly recommend getting all fine jewelry, diamonds and timepieces appraised every few years at Mountz Jewelers.

Our GIA Graduate Gemologists and AGS Certified Gemologist Appraisers will provide an assessment of your valuables. GIA and AGS graduates represent the most knowledgeable in the jewelry and gemstone grading field. In fact, there are less than 500 people worldwide who have earned the AGS Certified Gemologist Appraisers advanced certification. By obtaining documentation through Mountz, you’ll have an accurate statement of value for your personal records.

This information essentially covers you if you ever decide to insure your piece.

There are several instances when you may need an appraisal - insurance coverages, estate and divorce are the most common. They may also be necessary for insurance companies to pay out for necessary work, like replacing a missing diamond stud earring!

An appraisal is a legally binding document and can take some time and research to complete. Before your appraisal, make sure you gather any sales receipts, warranties, diamond or gemstone GIA certificates, insurance summaries, letters or prior appraisals if you have them. These documents will allow us to provide you with the most accurate and detailed appraisal. Schedule your appointment today to meet with our certified gemologists.
