John Hardy jewelry is born of the encounter between designers and artisans, the relationship shaping the development of the brand’s signature luxury craftsmanship. Each piece is fully designed and intricately crafted by virtuoso artisans on the brand’s compound in Bali. The art of jewelry-making is an ancient skill dating back to the time of kings on the island nation; descendants of those original artisans make up the John Hardy team today.
John Hardy’s popular Naga Collection has been given new energy this summer. Based on Bali’s myth of a dragon with a fierce and protective love for his pearl. Legend states the dragon leaves his home in the Balinese volcanos each evening and visits his pearl at the bottom of the sea. When he returns to his lair, his scales shed water into the fields, bringing the island love, prosperity and protection. This dragon, the Naga, is sacred to the Balinese and a symbol of John Hardy’s connection to the natural world.
