According to a study by TheWeddingReport.com, February and December are the months couples get engaged most often with Valentine’s Day and Christmas being the most popular days. And wouldn’t you know it, I myself, like many other lucky ladies, was asked to be married during Valentine’s Day weekend. And all those years ago, I can still remember when passing an engagement ring window, giving little hints to my now hubby, on what I hoped to see in that much anticipated ring box. So, if you’re thinking of popping the question and need a little guidance or if you’re looking to nudge your significant other, here are what our diamond experts consider some of the latest engagement ring trends.
Diamond Shape
When it comes to diamond shapes “Round” is what most women want. A round diamond represents an unbroken circle, which can symbolize unity to the couple. “Princess” cut diamonds are also in high demand. 
Settings
The most popular setting styles being purchased include micro-pave and halo styles. Cushion cut diamonds as well as fancy colored yellow and pink diamonds have grown in popularity. 
Metal
Metal is also important during the selection process. White gold continues to be the most popular metal choice in the ring setting with Platinum being the second.
